Set of 4 Rosewood Parlor chairs, circa 1850-60
Set of 4 rosewood parlor (side) chairs. Restored and reupholstered. Delicated floral and swag carving. 8 way hand tied springs and cotton blend rose floral and foliate upholstery that is a near perfect match to the original pink silk upholstery. These were purchased in New Orleans by the grandparents of the last owner in KC, MO. I can not find a makers mark, but the quality and style of the chairs and the origin city make me suspect they may be by Prudence Mallard. Exceptional condition and ready to use---yes, you can actually sit on these! And the price is less than you would pay for the professional upholstery.
