Neal Auction Summer Estates Auction
Rosewood-Desk Neal Auction's next sale is coming up this weekend and it has it's share of worthy lots which I have provided a sampling of below. I have been so busy recently that I haven't had a chance to review the paper catalog that is sent out but their website has all the details. Attributed pieces by Alexander Roux, John H. Belter, Herter Brothers and more will be featured in the sale.

Lot 813 is the same "model" as the dresser in the "Modern Gothic or Eastlake/Aesthetic or Both?" suite. I've half a mind to buy Lot 159 just to take it off the market. Poor thing has been at auction at least three times in the past couple of years, and Post Road Gallery had it in their stock for a while. Interesting note: the last time Neal sold it (in December of last year) it was catalogued as attrib. Kimbel & Cabus. Seems Neal took your debunking of that attribution in "Kimbel & Cabus Attributed Bedroom Suite" to heart, RV, since they've restored the Pottier & Stymus attribution it bore on previous go-rounds.

I'm hoping the P&S attribution has more teeth to it than the presence of a stenciled number behind it. Their catalog sometimes has more detail behind attributions. I'll have to check it when I get my hands on it again.

There must have been a few bidders that REALLY wanted this Victorian-era terrarium. Either they know something about it that I don't know or they had some excess money on hand that they wanted to part with. This terrariu
