Victorian Antique Furniture Stolen – Birmingham, AL

by John Werry on March 27, 2009

Please be on the lookout for some Victorian Furniture that was stolen on it’s trip down to Stevens Auction. If you come across any of it please contact us (info @ and we will pass the information on to the owners.  Here is some background from them describing how it happened:

My wife and I were staying at a nice hotel in Birmingham, Ala. and our Uhaul trailer was taken off our vehicle during the night and was gone with our furniture the next morning..we were on our way to Stevens with our furniture to put in the auction.  Any help in looking for this furniture out there would be greatly appreciated.  The trailer was stolen blind without the thieves knowing what was in the trailer–it was padlocked.  Quite a loss for us…many years of collecting and scrimping and saving, all gone in one night.

If people want to help publicize these stolen items, you can post a link to this post on other websites, forums, etc. using this permanent link here (right-click, “copy link location” or “copy shortcut”).

Thanks for your help and please review the four images below.

Did you consider trying to dust the trailer hitch/ back of you truck or car for prints? They probably touched it when unhitching the trailer. Charles said he was heading to Birmingham to check the local shops – you could cover a lot of ground quickly by phone and e-mail/ the internet. Bring up the yellow pages online for the area and/ or contact the local Chamber of Commerce for area antique shops/ dealers. Ask each for e-mail addresses and send them all pictures, also ask that they spread the word among their freinds/ fellow dealers and make sure you leave your number/ contact information with all of them should they hear anything. Good luck in your search. woodwright

Thanks to all responders and those posting on their websites-spent the entire weekend in Birmingham scouring flea markets, antique shops, etc. to no avail…will keep all posted if something turns up. Charles
