I knew eventually that this chair would turn up and it finally has. This is the Robert Mitchell High-back Arm Chair from his ca. 1902 catalog, model #66-1337 A. The “A” designates the Mahogany version of the chair, which this is. It was also available in quartered Oak – which had 2 finish options: golden or Antwerp. The Oak version was $96 while the Mahogany version was $116 “list price”, which suggests that they must have been flexible on final sale price. This chair is the larger, more deluxe version of the other Robert Michell Roman arm chair.
