How About An Alexander Roux Under Your Christmas Tree?

Not that it would fit under a tree, but go with me on this one. Drop some hints to your special other someone that you’d like a nice hunt sidebaord attributed to Alexander Roux or a few Belter chairs under the tree when you wake up December 25th.  Tell them you won’t even peek in the garage during the month of December in case something needs storing there.

Neal auction has these items and many more in their December 6th & 7th Holiday Estates Auction, including attributed items from Daniel Pabst and Prudent Mallard.  There are a few Kimbel & Cabus items, incuding a #353 labeled Kimbel & Cabus ebonized corner cabinet.

Me, I’m going to ask for the Monumental English Linen Press for Christmas.  I hear they’re selling better than Playstations this year.

    Hi!
An interesting concept. I think that I would take a Shrenkeisen chair to match the one I own already.
    Thanks!

I end up buying my own presents every year a la “honey, how about I get this as my Christmas present this year?”

seems to work. My Vudu player was one of them for this year.

If someone already asked santa for the Roux sideboard, I’m putting that Bembe and Kimbal(?) etagere on my list. I have seen 2 of these in person, one at Lise Bohm’s and one at Fontaines auction. They are amazing in person and those rotating side shelves are just lovely. A little out of my price range I’m afraid.

My wife and I always chip in and buy a piece of Victorian furniture or some other Victorian decorative item for Christmas, boy am I a lucky guy, not only is she beautiful but we have the same taste!

This is exactly what we need for the bedroom…I’ll arm wrestle you for it.
Unfortunately, I need to sand the floors, repair the plaster and wallpaper before installation. I am sure you wouldn’t mind using it for a couple of years before I need it! GREAT GIFT IDEA.

The Modern Gothic “Kimbel and Cabus” bedroom suite has been making the rounds for quite a while, though I think this might be its debut with a K+C attribution. Previous offerings at other auction houses have attibuted it to Pottier and Stymus…
