Video - Part III: Refinishing A Merklen Brothers “Shabby” Table

Published by RareVictorian at 8:37 am under Video Posts

A quick update on the table’s progress in this video. It is fully stripped and sanded and the quartersawn Oak shows in all it’s bare glory. We select stain for the wood and paint for the griffins.

Video Part I and Part II - if you haven’t already seen them.

You can view the video by using the player above or follow the instructions to view it in full-screen, stereo and High-Definition.

I tried the full screen version. It’s much nicer to watch the larger version than the small screen. I couldn’t get it to work in HD though - despite clicking on it and following the directions.

An alternate way to get the High-Def full screen display is to:

    - just hit play on the small one on RV, above. this is only to get the controls enabled.
    - hover your mouse in the upper right and click “HD off” (to toggle it to on)
    - a blue “HD” symbol will show up in the middle of the screen, click it to go to the video at the Vimeo site
    - click the 4 directional arrows in the lower right
    - hit play

Or go here here and just do the last 2 above.

Saw the table with 8 coats of shellac on it today. WOW is this going to turn out gorgeous. Should be done by Friday.
