N.J. Auction Saturday June 7th
Just a quick note to the N.J. area readers that there is an estate auction tomorrow on Saturday in Vineland. It's hard to assess all the Victorian being offered from the pictures, but the above chair, frequently attributed to George Henkels (not yet sure of that, myself), is probably the standout. Most of the rest of the furniture looks rather ordinary. I've seen these chairs sold (rightly or wrongly so) for $1,500 to $3,000 and I am betting that few if any of the attendees at the sale will bid it up anywhere near that. More info here.
