Sorry the blog has been quiet since the 9th but I’ve been buried in business meetings this week and I finally have a few moments to look for some great Victorian furniture.
This particular sale featuring this Meeks sofa is literally about 5 miles from my house. I will be profiling several of the other John H. Belter, Meeks, Alexander Roux and Hunzinger pieces from this upcoming sale in future posts.
This is a J & JW Meeks “Hartford” sofa according to the seller, Willam Bunch Auctions. It is made of rosewood and is adorned with grape and floral carvings. Bidding starts at $4,000 and expected range is $8,000 to $12,000. You can see more details and photos here.
